🏊 Gold Medal Swim Academy

Gold Medal Swim Academy provides swim instruction, water-safety education and stroke development for swimmers of different ages and ability levels. Its progressive teaching pathway helps swimmers build confidence, learn essential skills and continue developing at an appropriate pace.

Programs generally operate in four-week sessions, with some shortened three-week sessions offered depending on the calendar.

🥇 Gold Medal Development Pathway

Gold Medal Swim Academy organizes its instruction into three primary stages:

  • Water Foundations

  • Swim School

  • Stroke School

Private and semi-private instruction is also available for swimmers who would benefit from more individualized attention.

💦 Water Foundations

Water Foundations is a parent- or guardian-guided program designed primarily for children approximately 6 months to 3 years old who are not yet ready for independent swim lessons.

One adult joins the swimmer in the water as an instructor guides the group through purposeful activities that support water acclimation, body awareness, supported movement, breath comfort, basic floating and safe pool entry and exit.

Classes are designed to help families create positive, comfortable experiences in the water while learning how to support early swimming and water-safety development.

Program details:

  • Approximately ages 6 months–3 years

  • Parent or guardian participates in the water

  • 30-minute classes

  • Saturday mornings

  • Small-group instruction

  • Four-week sessions, with some three-week sessions

  • Current published price: $100 per session, or $25 per class

🏊‍♀️ Swim School

Swim School is Gold Medal Swim Academy’s independent lesson program for potty-trained children ages 3 and older, from beginners through novice swimmers.

Students are placed with a consistent instructor and group throughout the session. Lessons focus on building comfort, independence, water-safety skills and foundational swimming technique through structured, age-appropriate instruction.

The small class size allows instructors to provide individual attention while swimmers continue learning alongside others at a similar developmental level.

Program details:

  • Potty-trained swimmers ages 3 and older

  • Beginner through novice levels

  • Maximum 4:1 swimmer-to-instructor ratio

  • 30-minute classes

  • Monday through Thursday and Saturday

  • Weekday times currently listed at 5:00, 5:30, 6:00 and 6:30 p.m.

  • Saturday times currently listed at 9:00 and 9:30 a.m.

  • Four-week sessions, with some three-week sessions

  • Current published price: $200 for twice-weekly lessons or $100 for once-weekly lessons

Returning families may qualify for a 25% sibling discount for the second and additional children enrolled in the twice-weekly option.

🏅 Stroke School

Stroke School is designed for confident swimmers who are ready to progress beyond Swim School but may not be interested in joining a competitive swim team.

Classes focus on advanced technique, stroke development and endurance. Butterfly and breaststroke are taught in separate classes so swimmers can concentrate on the skills, timing and technique required for each stroke.

Program details:

  • Currently designed primarily for swimmers ages 5–9

  • Maximum 6:1 swimmer-to-instructor ratio

  • 45-minute classes

  • Breaststroke classes on Monday and Wednesday

  • Butterfly classes on Tuesday and Thursday

  • Current class time: 7:00–7:45 p.m.

  • Four-week sessions, with some three-week sessions

  • Current published price: $135 for once-weekly lessons or $200 for twice-weekly lessons

Swimmers should be able to complete 25 yards of freestyle with side breathing and 25 yards of backstroke before entering Stroke School.

👤 Private and Semi-Private Lessons

Gold Medal Swim Academy also offers personalized lessons for swimmers of different ages and ability levels.

Semi-Private Lessons

Semi-private lessons provide individualized instruction for two swimmers with one instructor.

  • 2:1 swimmer-to-instructor ratio

  • 30-minute lessons

  • Available for approximately ages 2–65+

  • Current published price: $50 per swimmer per lesson or $200 for four lessons
